A side note for the n00bs....

Spyware isn't just spys calling home and sending info about you to marketing firms. Some spyware cause system crashes as they compete for your system's attention. Others swap their versions of important dll files with the microsoft versions, and cause errors, freeze ups, and crashe Others mess with winsock, an important piece of the networking (internet) puzzle.

So don't just stop these spywares from calling home, remove them completely, or face the consquences.
