View Full Version : Antec case
Hey what do you think of the Antec sx1200. Lots of room for fans(5X80mm and 1X92mm) for my overheating dually.
Local here at $99.00
Antec is good. I would still recommend a blowhole though. :)
This thing has a 92mm fan at the very top in the rear above the PSU.
That helps but a blowhole works so much nicer. All my cases have blowholes. Heat rises and the blowhole takes it out fast.
I think I'm gonna pick it up. It's gotta cool better than the Lian Li case. To top that off I have a problem cutting holes in a solid aluminium case.
Those cases are nice!
Hey Sid,
I would re-do the cpu's after thoroughly cleaning them, ...just to be sure... And I would get a better temp monitor, such as Digi-Doc, etc... IMHO, much more accurate, of course that depends on placement of the probes... ;)
Goobie likes the blow holes, and with good reason, as they are the most effective for fan type heat removal. However, I can't help but think that your temps would be fine if the cpu's are set properly, with the flow you have...
Just out of curiosity,
what is your room temp?
Did you have your hsf blowing into the sink or pulling through?
A couple of peltiers is another option...
Sid, this is my aluminun case:

Thanks Ken, I'm gonna get it. This is flat out case ventalation problem. I can pull the side cover off and stick a small room fan blowing into the case and the temps drop 14c.
I just installed 2 Volcano 9 HSF's with AS3(fans set at full) yesterday and that help out quite a bit, but its still too hot for my liking. Room temp is about 80f.
Ok guy's got the case. Have a look.
