Version 2.1 is out and fixes a lot of bugs in the original version 2.

Also......

Multichannel encoder with WMA and WAV 5.1 file output
With the new multichannel encoder, you can take any mix from Cool Edit Pro's Multitrack View and pan the tracks and busses to create a surround sound mix. You can preview your surround mixes on any sound card that has a DirectSound multichannel driver, and export the mix as a single 5.1 WMA file, one interleaved 6-channel WAV file, or 6 individual mono wave files.

^^Pretty cool for those that are interested in 5.1 mixes..

There are dozens of new features.....you can read more about them -here- (http://www.syntrillium.com/cep/whatsnew.html)

The 2.1 upgrade is free to registered users of Version 2.

Syntrillium is usually quite slow in coming out with patches and new versions of their stuff...Cool Edit Pro was stuck at version 1.2 for like 4 years. It's a great app, but come on folks, update it once in a while! Maybe they're learning... :D

I won't argue that point.(upgrades/updates..).but for the money..your now getting 5.1...and that is pretty cool!

Now if I can only figure out how to burn one to CD. LOL

This thing rocks. I have not had a lot of time to play with it but it also rips the music from movies......I wonder if I can get the DTS from live shows. Heck...I just may have to try and see if I can get the 5.1 from DSOTM. Althought this won't be a rip but I'll have to record each channel in a mono wav......the gears are turning..
