I'm networked peer to peer on cable modem broadband. Win98SE server with a Win95 system. Everything was working great until I did the current Microsoft critical updates and updated WinMediaPlayer. Now I get a blue screen fatal exception at some random websites and about every other time I try to shut down. This is only happening on the Win98 server that got the updates. The Win95 system is fine. Any suggestions?
remove IE and reinstall IE6 without sp1 - criticalupdates are not THAT critical espcially if you have a firewall (software orhardware)

Thanks OJ
Is there a way to remove 6.0SP1 and reinstall 6.0 without losing my favorites and settings? I found what appears to be a plain 6.0 download from Tucows. Does anyone have any suggestions where else I might try? Microsoft doesn't have it anymore. Next time I'll pass on the CRITICAL updates. I noticed I still have an old IE5.5 zipped program still on my hard drive. Would that still work ok with my cable modem and peer to peer network?
Add Remove Programs. Remove new media player. Then choose to remove MS IE. On the popup windows choose 'restore previous config' of IE.
Reboot.
Then install 5.5.
