Can you help me with a problem? On my other computer, I downloaded DISKEEPER, a supposed very good defrag program, and I can't boot it in non-safemode now and when it runs checkdisk, it takes like 1 minute to go through 78% but does the rest very fast. Well, i can boot in non safemode... but it freezes at the "Windows is loading your settings..." and I can't do restore because it says sh*t like "cannot restore" and i can't reformat until this weekend when i can back my stuff up, also, when it gets to the loading screen, i hear the disk spinning around really fast for like 4 seconds and then it freezes. So I can only boot in safe mode, and i don't have another hard drive to back it up on. I have Windows XP Home, SP1. I really need to get on it to do homework, and this has to cd-burner so I can't print it at school. I have tried restore, anti virus, windoctor, uninstalling programs which may have been the problem, including Diskeeper. Please help !!!!!!

You could try booting into the XP CD and doing a repair.

Or from safe mode open a command prompt and type

sfc /scannow

Have your CD handy.

Here's how to remove it for W2K. I would'nt think it much different for XP.

How can I manually uninstall Diskeeper on my Windows 2000 system?

Before you begin any editing of the registry, always update your emergency repair disk (ERD).
Follow these steps to remove Diskeeper manually:

From the Desktop, click Start, then Run.
Type REGEDT32 for the command and click OK.
Select the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE hive.
Double-click SOFTWARE.
Double-click Executive Software.
Highlight DiskeeperNT4.
Select Delete from the Edit menu.
Click Yes on the warning window that appears.
Under SOFTWARE, double-click Microsoft.
Double-click Windows.
Double-click CurrentVersion.
Double-click Installer.
Double-click Products.
Highlight {0815BA4C07B73D118ABF0001B4239620} for Diskeeper Workstation, or {497679DA725C3D119A210001B4239620} for Diskeeper Server.
Select Delete from the Edit menu.
Click Yes on the warning window that appears.
Under CurrentVersion, double-click Uninstall.
Highlight {AD976794-C527-11D3-A912-00104B326902} or the code that displays DiskeeperServer on the right pane in the DisplayName field.
Select Delete from the Edit menu.
Click Yes on the warning window that appears.
Under HKELY_LOCAL_MACHINE, double-click SYSTEM.
Double-click CurrentControlSet.
Double-click Services.
Highlight Diskeeper.
Select Delete from the Edit menu.
Click Yes on the warning window that appear.
Select the HKEY_CURRENT_USER hive.
Double-click SOFTWARE.
Double-click Microsoft.
Double-click Installer.
Double-click Products.
Highlight 0815BA4C97B73D118ABF0001B4239620 or the code that displays DiskeeperServer on the right pane in the ProductName field.
Select Delete from the Edit menu.
Click Yes on the warning window that appears.
Under Installer, double-click Features.
Highlight {0815BA4C97B73D118ABF0001B4239620}, or the code that displays DiskeeperServer on the right pane in the ProductName field.
Select Delete from the Edit menu.
Click Yes on the warning window that appears.
Close the registry.
Reboot the system.
Open Windows NT Explorer.
Delete the Diskeeper installation directory.
On the boot disk, delete the Diskeeper directory in this location:
\Documents And Settings\current user\Start Menu\Programs.
Also, Go to the Installer folder under %systemroot%. There will be at least one *.MSI file in there. Right-click, go to Properties, and select the Summary tab. You should check all the MSI packages that you find there. There may also be subfolders in the installer folder. They have GUIDs as their folder names and the only way we know to determine if one of them belongs to Diskeeper is to check times on the folders and see if they coincide with any of the MSI files. You should then delete any MSI files or folders that are related to Diskeeper.

Thank you, but up to the "PRODUCTS" part it all worked. From Installer, I have:

Folders
ResolveIOD
Secure
+ UpgradeCodes
+ Userdata

+ meaning it can be expanded.

Try searching for the strings.
