Satallite Broadband?

I cant get broad band where I am. I did, however, read about a satallite dish broadband you could get that would work anywhere! How ever I can't find anything on the internet and I cant remember the companies name.

So, if any of you lot know of products like this could you pleeeeeeze tell me!

There is a satelite broadband in the UK,
I think it is Bigpond Internet Service, but I don't remember for sure.
All I know is that I had to contact them once when one of their satellite customers was trying to hack into my computer's ports.

I have a direcway duel satellite i'ts great for for downloading and sufing the web....however it doesn't do online gaming....good anyway.....go to www.directv.com for more info.

Check for availabilty of wireless broadband before you go to satellite.....

I had Pegasus 2 way satellite for over a year and it never was what was promised.....My DL speeds, while at times neared 1Mbps(1000Kbps) is usually was around 350K............The uplink speeds were horrible running between as low as 8K up to 60K or so....

You'll pay as much as $500 for set up/start up with satellite plus commit to a year service at as much as $69 a month.........

Satellite beats dial up but just barely.....

Get a directway 6000 it using pure ethennet or make sure you get a dish with ethernet instaed of usb networking computer later on won't be a hassle if you get on with etherent.

Two well-known characteristics of satellite links cause very poor TCP performance:
•Higher bit-error rates over the satellite link as compared to hard links cause an increase in lost packets
•Long round-trip time (RTT) over the satellite link, typically > 500ms
