Latency/Lag

Have a friend that has a P4 1.6 with 256 megs. Was on cable and while playing a game we play(Rogue Spear), he experiences lag and warping from screen to screen. He recently moved and now has DSL. Originally we thought it was just his cable, but now he is getting just as much on DSL. What can we look at to help limit this?

In gaming there isn't too much u could do You could try tweaking. :D
