Ok try this give compa a static ip to do this goto my computer control panel network click on the box that saids enter ip manually give it an adress of 192.168.1.xx xx could be any number except 192.168.1.1 for subnet you want 255.255.255.0
ok don't exit that just yet goto startmenu run, type cmd you see a black screen type ipconfig/all you see a bunch of numbers
Write down what the dns server numbers are.
Back to the top under subnet mask where it saids dns type in the dns server settings click ok. You should be good to go.

Welcome to Speedguide Psynin.
Do you know if your current ISP requires a host name to log on? Meaning, you'd normally name your computer a certain name, or program that name into your router. It's almost like a username, but there's no password. Some cable ISP's use that method.
Was any of this hardware used in an existing setup before, like with your prior ISP? Or is this all brand new, out of the box? Did this new ISP work before with another modem that you just replaced with the Linksys?
If you can access your router, then your TCP settings are correct, no need to change those, they wouldn't affect how you log onto your modem anyways. It's the router that's important to log onto, and you're doing that.
thx for the help guys.. come to find out it was a bad ethernet cable :)
