Cable Modem Recommendation???

I am on Cox cable. I want to purchase my own cable, instead of paying rent on their box.

If gaming is my main usage and price is not an issue, what modem would you guys recommend. I get around 1.4 on the downside....most of the time.

Welcome to Speedguide:D, I would suggest a Toshiba modem and from the sound of it you need to tweak your connection if you are only getting 1400 kilobits down, Cox's caps are 3000 kilobits down. As far as my DL, they have this area capped at 1.5.
