A friend of mine says I can borrow his copy of it, and everywhere I 've read online, the reviews have been in the 9-10 range. Anyone played it before? What's it like?

Great game, more along the line of a "thinking man's shooter" like Deus Ex than a regular run & gun type game like Quake or Unreal. Hopefully you aren't the type that demands all of your games have the latest visuals, because while they're pretty good (at least when it was released), they are dated.

You may like it, you may hate it...but you won't know until you try. Thankfully you're giving it a chance, something too many people didn't.

Definately needs to be played late at night and in the dark, like many horror-type games, for the full effect.

I can't get it to run stably on my system; although it loads fine, about three minutes into playing it locks up the computer,. forcing a reboot. I've tried compatibility mode, too, to no avail. Ah well.
