what are ur faves and what are soem ur looking forward too?
Diablo has always been a favorite of mine, but I'm really enjoying Command and Conquer - Generals.
Those are RTS games, not RPG's.
What type of genre are you looking for (like...something along the lines of a Morrowind or a Final Fantasy?), and which system(s) as well?
The ones I've been spending time on recently are Shenmue II (XBOX this time), Kingdom Hearts (again), and Xenosaga. I may decide to import FF X-2, or just play FFX again, and maybe catch up on a few that I've missed such as Suikoden III, Skies Of Arcadia (GCN version) and Dark Cloud 2.
On the PC side...haven't really paid attention to the new releases there as I still haven't exactly fixed my gaming machine. :p

When I played UO, I had sometimes up to 5 or 6 accounts...that is $50 or $60 but when I was done playing I made a few grand
ANYONE who pays money...especially hundreds or thousands of dollars...for an f'ing Ultima Online account should be corralled and shot. Period.

There's no comparison.
Hardware is physical and tangible...a bunch of stats and inventory isn't...it's just bits and bytes.
It's one thing to be broke because you bought a new monitor or hard drive, but it's quite another to not be able to make rent because you spent a thousand bucks on someone's role-playing game account.
Shot.

one could spend a thousand or so to buy a new comp.... that would bring 10 units of enjoyment (a unit).. then one could spend a thousand to buy a top of the line character.... 10 units of enjoyment....
It's not really how tangible one thing is.. it's just how much enjoyment you can get out of it.... if I could spend 50 dollars for a blow job (service is intangible) or buy a blow up doll (tangible) for 50 dollars...
All in all... some say tomatoes.. some say toMAtoes... it's all the same.. :D

There is no justification for it. Topic done.

there is no justification for going thousadns of dollars indebt for 3dmarks either when a PII 100MHz system can spam SG just as well.
Continuing on the off topic side...
Burke, wouldn't that mentality mean that ALL software is not worth paying for? Why buy a copy of Windows when its all just bits and bytes (sadly, too many people think this way)?
in uo there r families, yes families which r living their lives there for years now.All u have to pay is 10 bucks. Its fee for account. If u wanna advanced account with rares, castle, large tower or marble shop then u have to pay lotsa bucks on ebay.Or get it after years of collecting. So did i.Is it worth the money ? I dont know,i bought the game and i did 5x7x GM axx including GM treasure hunter and GM lockpicking which r the hardest skills to gain.ALso i had gm tamer, lore,i tryed GMster every skill. On the end i liked hunt player killers,i died 1000x and also i killed them 1000x :D
When i got bored i sold it.
If i will get bored with my irl for sure ill grab UO again and even pay hundreds of bucks on ebay and not feel sorry for it.
cuz UO ...its lifestyle :)

There are a lot of people who play MMORPG who work maybe 60-80 hours a week, and have no time to build their stuff up, and have tons of money,
it is no different going to las vegas or atalntic city and spending tons of thousands of dollars.
You spend your money on what you enjoy. It dont matter if it is something physical or not.
I know people who play the games just to amke a living, and thye mkae anywahere from $20k to $30k a year jsut selling online gaming stuff and that all they do.
I onyl sell my stuff when I am done with the game and bored.

i use to say i would never pay monthly for a game, until i tried everquest...
i feel its the only way to keep hackers out of a online rpg game. also, it keeps the game fresh with all the new content being added.
all the good online rpg games you will have to pay monthly, just the way it is.

Im looking forward to Starwars gax.
its a great RPG made from bioware?
SW Gax? If you mean Galaxies, its being made by Verant (Sony), the same people that did Everquest.
The Star Wars game from Bioware is Knights Of The Old Republic.

I have a 64 Warrior on Xev EQ. Very addictive. When i bought it I didn't know I'd have to pay a montly fee!!! Got it with first month free and quickly realized it was worth the $9.95. I think these MMOG's are the future of gaming. I mean people pay 50 and 60 bucks a month for movie channels and you can't even interact with them!!
The best thing is they keep all the hackers out. So many GREAT games i've seen ruined by hackers..it's worth a measly 10 bucks a month to not have to worry about that.
Oh if anyone is interested I'm seeling my 64 Warrior account. he's got a good rep and good gear. Full SS, epic'd, over 7k hp's, self haste item, jboots, CoF, and over 80kp in the bank!!!
