I formatted C: while leaving D: and E: partitions intact..Now when I go online multiplayer it gives me "Invalid cd key" for BF1942 and RTR..I found my cd case for RTR but that does me no good for 1942..One day I'll learn to write the keys on the CDs..
Google turned up a few leads for a reg location but all came up to blank folders..
Any ideas besides sending them into EA(if possiable) or spending another $30..
Yes their mine..No warze...No im not gonna get a keygen or key online..I dont want Wal~Mart to own me for three copies...
HELPPPPPPP!!!
i can find out for you.
gimme like 5 minutes to search....
sorry, ha dot find my original cd insert so i can search the registry.
this is win2k BTW, but the path/tree is HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/software/Electronic Arts/EA GAMES/Battlefield 1942/ergc

Thanks for looking Faust, thats the folder my google search turned up...Came up empty...:(
I'll search my RTR key and see whats what....
EDIT***Turned up nadda
sorry to hear that. dont know what to tell you.
have you thought of entering a bogus (made up) cd key for bf1942 and then immediately installing/updating to RTR and using the CD key you have for that?
don;t know if it will work, but worth a try maybe?

Wait, if you formatted C:, does it mean you formatted windows and bf as well? Try dling a cd changer http://games.softnews.ro/public/cat/1/1-45.shtml
Not sure if it'll show your current cdkey. I dled a cs cdkey changer made by the same developer and it shows my current cdkey.

theres a link to a little app that stores and lets you change your cd key.
i went through the same issue as you.
If that doesnt work, I will expot my BF registry entry and let you add your cd key to it and install.
hope this helps

its in the hkey_local users_software register
glad you found the case
i would be interested to see where it is if it's not in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/software/Electronic Arts/EA GAMES/Battlefield 1942/ergc.
