Docsis 2.0 bandwidth per channel ... (http://www.ietf.org/proceedings/01dec/slides/ipcdn-3/sld003.htm)

I hear alot about docsis 2.0 and see that motorola already has there modems available to cable operators as of this month and to the public next month. And I hear alot of things about this technology allowing cable providers to give each user upto 3 times more bandwidth (because of the more bandwidth per channel and more effiecently done.....). Does anyone else see anything good coming out of this technology ? and when will isp's make these upgrades to there systems ?

I've not heard of any ISP that has committed to introducing Docsis 2.0.

It may be quite a while.

I just purchased the brand new Motorola Surfboard 5100 cable modem.

There is only one place that has them available.. Comp-U-Plus.

Same place that has all Motorola broadband products in stock before everyone for some reason.

I'm still waiting for Charter here in MA to allow me to use my 5100. According to them it is being tested in St Louis and is not compatible here. Guess that's what I get for buying extremely new hardware.
