I was just wondering if it is possible to combine multiple IP's to gain better connection performance. I have 5 IP's available to use with my cable connection. Can you combine bandwidth from two of those Ip's to be used for only 1 actual internet connection? Maybe im not looking at this clearly, but seems that some time ago I read a forum that talked about doing this. I dont recall the web addy, so thought maybe the great wise ones at speedguide could help me out.
if you have a cable connection and 5 IPs available, that doesn't mean you get 5x the bandwith
it JUST means you get 5 IPs

Well, two issues:
Caps are per modem. If you are hitting the caps, using additional IP's will not help.
If you are downloading from a site that has adequate bandwidth but which restricts the bandwidth per IP, it may help. I don't think there are many sites like that, however.

Thanks for the info guys. I thought about it more this afternoon and realized that just because I had 5 ips didnt mean I had more bandwidth. That just meant that I could connect up to 5 pcs. The bandwidth allocated for my Cable connection wasn't raised because of the higher demand. Basically I answered my own question, but thanks for the replys.
Speedguide is the best. Thanks!
