omg you have to be kidding me...I installed SBS SP1 and now both of the PC's cant see each other again. Every 5 minutes I get a 1000 & 1001 in the event viewer http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;271213, i had this come up after i first installed but i fixed it by putting the internal NIC first in the list in the advanced settings in network places.
this also occurs when i try to open the GPO, http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;253268 . I went into the sysvol folder and checked, every single file and folder is there. the sysvol is being shared also and so is a script folder
The client PC gets a 1030 & 1058 http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;314494 I did the registry fix on the page, there was no DisableDFS in that key so i made one. File and print sharing is enabled, if you read at the bottom this sounds EXACTLY like my problem( the Userenv1000, SceCli1001 part under more info)
Is this most likely the cause of the problem where it wont allow the computers to see each other?
I made a ERD right before i installed the SP, any way to get back to that point with the ERD( i doubt it would help but if i could go back top that point and copy the sysvol folder when it was working...if it still worked). uninstall the windows SP3?? will this effect the SBS and exchange SP installs.
Re-create the folder structures within the Sysvol container. The {GUID} folder names must include both the leading brace - "{" and the trailing brace - "}"
I would like to try this first but just wanted to check something, if i recreate the structure should i move the old files located in the folders
other than not being able to get some programs the HDD on the server(I just reinstalled so i kinda need them..lol) and a few problems with the database, everything is working good. Thanks everyone for the help
p.s. lets try to keep the words "complete reinstall" out of the discussion..I dont know if i can handle another
