:S i'm still not doing very good :(, my upload is 1mb/s and my download like 100-200kbps heres my current settings:

TCP properties for IP =
Browser/OS = Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows 98)
Note: Read the FAQ if the above is not your IP address.

TCP options string = 020405ac0101080a000000000000000001010402

MTU = 1492
MTU is optimized for PPoE DSL broadband. If not, consider raising MTU to 1500 for optimal throughput.

MSS = 1452
Maximum useful data in each packet = 1452, which equals MSS.
MSS is optimized for PPPoE DSL broadband. If not, consider raising MTU to 1500 for maximum throughput.

Default Receive Window (RWIN) = 7260
RWIN Scaling (RFC1323) = 0 bits
Unscaled Receive Window = 7260
RWIN is a multiple of MSS
Other values for RWIN that might work well with your current MTU/MSS:
511104 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 8)
255552 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 4)
127776 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 2)
63888 (MSS x 44)

bandwidth * delay product:
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 290.4 kbps (36.3 KBytes/s) @ 200ms
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 116.16 kbps (14.52 KBytes/s) @ 500ms
Consider increasing your RWIN value to optimize TCP/IP for broadband.

MTU Discovery (RFC1191) = ON

Time to live left = 38 hops
TTL value is ok.

Timestamps (RFC1323) = ON
Note: Timestamps add 12 bytes to the TCP header of each packet, reducing the space available for useful data.

Selective Acknowledgements (RFC2018) = ON

IP type of service field (RFC1349)= 00000000

but i still ping 220-250 on games, for cs my current rate speed is either 2000 or 2500 are these correct for a ping of 250 on adsl, could it just be the fact i'm far from the server i.e middle east, my apparent download cap is 256kbps, any suggestions on either the game rate setting or my current internet setting would be appreciated :)

Where are you coming up with these settings? What about the settings we posted for you here (http://forums.speedguide.net/showthread.php?s=&threadid=106531). :)

i did this test thing on dslreports.com and it told me to drop my recieve window down to 7000 something :S, although i haven't,yet, found a tweak that has made much difference to my connection :S could it just be that my connection was already good and i'm stuck with a high ping? i mean ur tweak results gave the same results as dsl reports :/ could i be i need to lower my mtu or something, i'm still clinging onto hope of some magical tweak that will drop my ping down to atleast 150 from 222-250, i really don;t care about downloading, i'm not so cheap as to download the game and rip companies off :P all i care about is ping :P

Don't listen to anything DSLReports says:(, no tweak will lower your latency, latency is an ISP issue.

oh...bummer, in that case what setting would u recommend anyway, the ones on the previous post?

Yes, definelty use these exact settings and redo the other suggestions just to be safe.

BcastNameQueryCount - 1
BcastQueryTimeout - 100
BSDUrgent - 1
CacheTimeout - 600000
DefaultRecvWindow - 17424
DefaultTTL - 128
EnableDNS - 0
GlobalMaxTcpWindoSize - 17424
KeepAliveInterval - 500
KeepAliveTime - 14400000
Lanabase - 0
LocalCopyMade - 1
MaxConnections - 64
MaxConnectRetries - 5
MaxDataRetries - 64
NameTableSize - 255
NameSrvQueryTimeout - 100
PMTUBlackHoleDetect - 0
PMTUDiscovery - 1
RoutingBufSize - 146432
RoutingPackets - 100
SackOpts - 1
SessionKeepAlive - 7200
SessionTableSize - 255
Size/Small/Medium/Large - 3
Tcp1323Opts - 0
TcpTimedWaitDelay - 30
MaxDupAcks - 3
DefaultTOS - 232
IGMPLevel - 2
MaxConnectionsPer1_0Server - 8
MaxConnectionsPerServer - 4

VERY IMPORTANT TO DO THE FOLLOWING

1. Under your Configuration tab for your Network settings make sure you have only the needed protocols.

2. Install the vtcp 386 patch and the NDIS Update from here (http://dslnuts.com/patch/index.html).

3. Open IE and select tools - internet options - connections - LAN settings, make sure NOTHING there is checked.

4. Make sure you have the latest drivers for your NIC from the manufacturer. Set your NIC duplex mode to 10mb half duplex for Cable, for DSL it is ISP dependent unless you are using a router, if so then set it to 100mb full duplex for both Cable & DSL (the instructions are in my Help & Tips link (http://forums.speedguide.net/showthread.php?s=&postid=643301#post643301)). If you are using a router make sure you have the latest firmware.

5. Clear your temporary internet files.

6. Power cycle your modem, unplug it for atleast 15 seconds.

7. Download and update then do a scan with SpyBot (http://beam.to/spybotsd) & Ad Aware 6.0 (http://www.lavasoftusa.com/support/download) to remove any spyware then install and update SpywareBlaster (http://www.wilderssecurity.com/spywareblaster.html) to stay spyware FREE.

8. Make sure you do the faster web page tweak in my Help & Tips link (http://forums.speedguide.net/showthread.php?s=&postid=643301#post643301).

Also, what firewall are you using?

:) ;)

If you don't know then you most likely aren't using one. I would recommend using Sygate. Are you even using an antivirus app? If so update it and scan.

Your kidding right? By ALL means get a firewall, please read my website Dr Tweak in my signature and try the security test sites and see how easily it would be for someone to hack you. Also you are posting your IP address in your first post, you could easlily have a trojan, spyware or virus.
