I'm looking into a cert for fibre cabling.

I know all of the major vendors have their own certification programs, but what I'm looking for is something more neutral in the coporate scheme.

I was searching the local school of technology and found this course they offered:

http://www.nait.ab.ca/fiberoptictraining/

They provide training for the FOA, The fibre Optic Association. At the end of the course you get the FOA's CFOT -> Certified Fibre Optic Technician.

I'm just curious if anybody here has heard of the FOA, how highly respected is there certification?

And what do you guys think about the price? It's in CND $.
