I do service and sales at a local mom and pop comp shop here in portland or....the thing is i want a way to be abel to keep a database of information so when a customer comes in I can just pull up a data sheet that will have all there past service jobs listed on it.

We use quickbooks for our sales databse so maybe there is a way to do it in that.

Not much around in the freeware catagory but you could try this bit of Aussie technology on a free trial.

Depends what your bosses are prepared to pay for it.

Can you whip something simple up in MS Excel?

Where I worked before, we used one called Maximizer.

http://www.maximizer.com/

Started working there when they had the DOS based one, of course it's Windows based now.

There's also Goldmine, and Act.

Pricey though, but do a search for CRM software, you'll prolly find some inexpensive ones, even freebies.
