Critical updates

Anyone here did a critical update of February 6, 2003 for WIN XP ?

I did the WIndows update this morning, but after that the Java programs don't work. (Descriptions numbers are 810577, 811630, 810847)

Anybody else has this problem?

How do I unistall the critical update? Not all of them show in the ADD/Remove window.

I have not done those updates as of yet. I did go and look at them and here is what I found out for you.


810577: Security Update

A security issue has been identified that could allow an attacker to compromise a computer running Microsoft(r) Windows(r) XP and gain control over it. To attempt an attack, the attacker would have to be able to log on to the computer. You can help protect your computer by installing this update from Microsoft.

System Requirements

This update applies to Windows XP.

How to use

Restart your computer to complete the installation.

How to uninstall

Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
Double-click Add/Remove Programs.
Do one of the following:
If you are running Windows XP SP1, select Windows XP (SP2) [See Q810577 for more information]

If you are running Windows XP, select Windows XP (pre-SP1) [See Q810577 for more information]
Click Change/Remove to uninstall.


The other two updates said they can NOT be uninstalled.

Where can you redownload Java not the sun version had problems with that

I am kicking all the Cans around here, kind of going crazy. I didn't have any problem with Win XP until this point and was happy with it.

Bill Gates wants to make more money and screwing with Sun Micro then give us more headache.

What is the solution?

I got it redownload ver. 3805 here and then do windows update again and scan for critical errors then download the update that says " java redirects browser traffic"

This is actually for XP but not the updated Ver. 3809

Hey bro just make sure you go back to microsoft and rescan and download the update for ver. 3805

I ran the updates and everything is OK on my end. Have you checked your JAVA settings in the ADVANCED section of TOOLS>>INTERNET OPTIONS?
