Hello All!
I need some help with this one, big time. I was playing Happy War Craft III Demo last night when my MSN Messenger Popped up, I could hear it, and even see it over War Craft.

Now I just recently activated the MSN Messenger and I have the lastest up date. The only person that I talk to on it, is my Dad.
I got out a WarCraft and I saw his message and also I saw that AVG Window Saying that "Exception" found virus in C:\windows\system32\mydocs.dll

Then after that any thing that I tried to open AVG would be poping up saying that this file had a virus or that file had a virus.
mydocs.dll seemed to be the most common. I couldn't do a full scan with AVG, so I had to shut down the computer.

This mydocs.dll seems so damn familar to me, I thought it is a MSN Messenger virus but can't find any info.

Does this jogs anybody's memory? I did a scan with Norton 2002 and AVG again, but found nothing.
I'm using the newest AVG Sigs. Could this be a False Reading?

I am trying Trend Micros Site to see if anything comes up.
Thanks for reading this.

Shinobi, I don't know to tell you the truth. :)

Sounds very odd to say the least. I would think that if AVG caught it, and gave you a message about it, and then after a scan with AVG came up negative, you are probably free of it, if in fact it was a virus.

Are you running Norton and AVG together in the background?

Shinobi, is there anything in the AVG Virus Vault?

If so, what's it called?

mydocs.dll is a Windows system file but when viewed with Wordpad gives no help with what it's function is.

If there is nothing in the VirusVault and you have been able to open MSNMessenger since then without incident, put this down to a bit of over exuberence on AVG's part.

If you haven't used MSN since, I would be happy to link up and see if this happens again. If you want... PM the addy.

Norm: It is ood, very odd indeed. can't find anything now with Norton or AVG or Trend Micro online scanner.

Croc: Nothing in AVG's Virus Vault. It was weird, because like I said, other files were being poped up by AVG as infected, but only if I was trying to get into, say Internet Explorer or the AVG program itself.

All: The AVG progam was saying ****Exception!!!!**** in it's
Pop up warning msgbox . I am now wondering if it was the same a Javascript Virus ? I'll keep you both posted.
I will see what happens
when my Dad messages me again.

Thanks for your help and support! :)

You missed answering one of Norm's questions.
Are you running Norton and AVG together in the background?
Maybe that could be defined even more by asking are both Norton and AVG up and running with all options switched on or have you turned off active scanning with Norton?
Many people run AVG and Norton and I have yet to hear of problems running both.
Next time you have contact with your dad, switch Norton off completely and see if it happens. If it does, do a screenshot of the dialog box and post it here.
