Setting Up A Tv Card?

I was wondering if anyone is using a tv card in their system and what their using for a connection. I thought you needed to run an actual cable tv line from a cable tv box to the card to get cable tv. I was reading that you could use the cable line to your cable modem, by using a splitter with one line going to the modem and the other to your tv card. Is this true? Has anybody done this or now of anybody doing this? Would there be any kind of problems from doing this?

U wont need a cable box to get normal channels. Some cable service need a cable box to get extended service. All u need is a special high frequency splitter so ur cable service works.

I used to do this...
It is okay as long as you have a high quality splitter, or else your cable modem won't be getting any signals.
