virus info,and anti virus info please

hi ,i recently got a virus and could`nt start my pc up friend fixed it said something about it changing my c/mos config :confused: the virus began with a P i`ll know it if i see it ,can anyone tell me were i can find out about virus`s also ,can you have 2 anti virus systems running at once or 1 as i have norton 2000 updated is it anygood ,thanks gang xxxxx

Norton 2000 is old now, use the latest version 2003 (Keep it updated). Running 2 anti virus at the same time can cause problems, use one.

Viruses can be locked out of CMOS by enabling virus protection from the BIOS/CMOS setup. While you're in there disbable BIOS flashing if you have that option, so a virus can't flash your bios.

Have a look through their virus library etc.

If you had a CMOS virus you should clear CMOS, see the manual for your motherboard about how to set the jumper to clear it. Or you can remove the CMOS battery.
