everytime i open up a new page in explorer i get the error message (The page cannot be displayed) the once i click on refresh the page would load basicly i have to open a page then click on relodae for it to load does anyone know why this is happening, my previous ISP was directvinternet DSL this wasn't happening until i switch over to bellsouth who send me a westell modem the same thing happen on my laptop, when i test my bandwith it idicate 9xx kbps average i'm using windows 2000 and like i say it never happen before with directv

open up explorer at the top click on tools under the general tab you should see temporary internet file click on setting ,then check the box automatically. that should fix it.
then clear files and set to 80 MB to use

Sounds like a dns server problem. The server does not have the desired address in its cache, and by the time it obtains it your browser has timed out.

I believe that there is a registry setting that can be changed to increase the expiration time. Try help.microsoft.com

when you say the dns server is that mean it's on bellsouth side, i just build another computer and install Win98 and i'm getting the same problem

That's interesting cos I get this too. I've tried all sorts to fix it. First time fails but hitting refresh works. I use XP.
