I just finished getting rid of all the xupiter junk my 11 year old daughter somehow downloaded. She claims to only have been on disney and other kid sites like neopets and some games. Now I'm paranoid and told her she has to check with me on everything. She just asked to download Macromedia Flash. I started to try to read the EULA and the 3rd party EULAs. Wondering if any of you can help shortcut that for me and tell me if Macromedia is safe. Thanks.

Thus far, Macromedia seems to be fine. :)

Blebs is right.
The only thing you have to be sure about is that you got all of Xupiter.
There is supposed to be an uninstall d/load if you want to try it. The only trouble is it is at the Xupiter website. No point going there.

Just to make sure you did get it all here is a set of instructions for manual removal. (http://www.doxdesk.com/parasite/Xupiter.html)

you really have nothing to fear from d/loading Macromedia Flash.

Thanks folks. I had found a good thread on xupiter removal and got it all. The sort of odd thing is that it appears no one is sure where people get snagged by xupiter. Thanks again.

I had not found the link you supplied above when I was trying to find ways to get rid of xupiter ... your link has what I did. The huge thread I plowed through is:

Press the one with http:// on it. Type what you want to call the link in the active line & ok. Another line will appear. Enter the URL in there & ok. The link will transfer to the page under what you have typed. Then continue to finish your post.
