It shouldn't...it's your CPU doing the work.

The Tinker Core runs slower on linux, the linux fortran compiler isn't as efficient as the windows fortran compiler. With the Gromacs core both clients are about the same.

Specifically, it is 70% the speed or Windows with Tinker core.
