SMC7004VBR Barricade opinions?

hey all

i know this is an older router but its on for $69 + $30 rebate[CND]

just wanted to make sure this is a decent router thats not notorious for crashing and defects etc.

cuz i just told my gf's dad about it and if its gonna be a crap ass router i dont wanna tell em to get it, else it'll look bad on my part. personally i have no experience hooking one of these up as i use the linkysys one...

any input will be greately appreciated

SMC first Entry Level Routers

The oldest 7004BR

Then 7004ABR.

Current 7004VBR.

The current is sold in the US for $49.

As compare to the previous Routers they drop the Printer Server, and Serial Port support.

They add a capacity to put 10 computers on the DMZ (provided you have an external IP for each.

They call it VBR the V for VPN better compatibility, however it is not really a VPN Router.

If you need a plain Vanilla normal Router it will work well for you.
