What IP is your workstation getting?
Did it ever work before?
As a networking newbie I dont know if I am being idiotic, but isn't the router's IP usually 192.168.0.1?

Your router should be (by default) 192.168.1.1
If you're getting an ip address, then it's working. To find what IP the router is, go to a command prompt and type ipconfig /all, and see what is listed as the default gateway- this is the IP of your Linksys. Maybe you changed its IP address?

I did what you suggested and the ip is correct. The router is working fine. I just can't get into the damn thing. I want to change some setting so I can host BF1942. This is driving me nitz! All I get is a "Cannot Find Server" page.
What OS and what browser are you using? I have seen this on XP home that it will not connect. No Java perhaps?? Do you have any pop-up stoppers enabled?

I'm using XP pro. Java is enabled and I am using a popup stopper. I already tried disableing it. No go.

WinXP seems to do this often on routers web admin pages.
In Internet Exploader, Tools...Internet Options...Delete Temporary Internet Files. Once done, try again.

try setting the router as the default gateway in network properties if you haven't already tried that

manaully set ip, subnet and a gateway of 192.168.1.1 on your computer under tcp/ip properties
then try it in the browswer
also, what error do you get? does it say 404 page not found? or what?

open a command prompt
type ipconfig and hit enter
The default gateway listed should be the address of your router
In the browser type "http://192.168.1.x " where x is the last digit of your default gateway address.
Given that your IP is 100, you may've gotten clever and made your router 192.168.1.254 or something.

I have recently learned that if you are using a Linksys router and you have manual proxy turned on in IE, you will not be able to access the router. I have to turn off proxy in IE and shut down/restart IE before I can access my Linksys.

Are you using any kind of proxy server on your network? With my setup I have to disable proxy in IE before I can access the router.
{EDIT} Should have read to the end before posting.... duh!

I have set up and I was just as frustrated as you...
Talk to a Sprint Rep...
Tell them that you bought the router from them and they will walk you through the whole process... (you only have to lie a little bit...)
It requires that you modify the router settings to PPoE and bridge the connection between your modem and the router. Change the settings according the Sprint rep and everything will be ok!!!
Email me back if you have any problems... I have the same router and problems as you

Put the address of the router (usually 192.168.1.1) in the address bar of Internet Explorer (note that for some stupid reason, the admin page doesn't really work with Mozilla or Firefox). If you get a prompt for a username/password, you have the right address.
If not, or you don't know the address (hint: if you haven't changed it, the username is blank and the password is admin), you will have to reset the router.
On the back of the router is a red, inset button. Press and hold the button for more than 6 seconds. The router will reset to its defaults. Log in and change them (at least change the password).
Then you can make the changes you want.
courtney sends....
in the middle of the night my linksys router starts to go crazy all the lights keep on flashing, could there be a problem
please reply
someone answer me please!!!!!!!!!
Try entering 192.186.1.1 in the address bar of Windows Explorer instead of Internet Explorer and see if you get the router's home page. Look carefully at the router's home page and see if it is accurate. I am having this problem and the router's home page looks to be a spoof. I do not have a fix yet but if I find one I will post it.
