I am trying to play a CD bought from store using Realone Player 2.0 but I get an error as “RealPlayer cannot play the file type on this disc”. The format of the CD is CDA and this media type under the preference of RealPlayer is assigned to RealPlayer. When I Choose the CD icon to play the CD and click on the CD information I get error as “There is no CD on the Drive.......”

Anyone knows how to solve this problem?

I have Win media player 9.0, Winamp player and Realplayer on this PC. I can play the same CD using Winamp or Win media player without any trouble.

The Win media player 9.0 and Winamp player on this PC are not assigned to play this media type under its respective preferences. The OS is Win XP pro SP1.

Thanks for any help

It's simple: don't use RealPlayer, period. It's slow, buggy and invasive. If the CD will play in the other programs, use those.

The purpose of using the RealPlayer is to rip a song from a CD in MP3 format. RealPlayer has free MP3 plugins to use.
