the first time i network me and my bros comps.
we both want to have cable and i have the ethernet hub and we both have network cards and cables but how do we do it? we both have xp pro aswell.

tell me wat cabels to plug into which

and i only have one nic in each comp

andrew87 It would help if you tell us what modem you have and what hub you have? what OS are you running?There is more than one way to set up a network,The best is to use a router but you can use a switch or hub also you can set up a proxy server.If you have a USB modem you will need to have two nic card in one computer.If you use a switch or hub you will need to add a seond IP. An IP cost about $10 per month.
PS:A hub is not a very good way to set up a network to use the internet. because of the bottle neck at the modem . read this
