Does anyone know of a RAM tester that I can use in windows 2000? My main partition is NTFS, so I don't think I can boot with a DOS boot disk. Most of the mem testers I see are DOS based.

I want to test my memory b/c I am getting sporadic file corruption and data errors, mainly on bootup.

thanks, Partial

This is what I use to test all memory. It's a linux proggie but there is a version that makes a linux bootable disk for you. Check here.

Many thanks Sid, that will be very handy in the future. Do you know if this prog will test DDR memory? It tested my PC2700 memory, but it reported the badwidth to be around 700MB/s. That is definitely not my badnwidth. Sandra reports it around 2000MB/s (even though it is theoretically 2700.) Still, I am wondering if it checks the memory at ddr speeds and if there could be ddr errors that it misses.

Any idea?

I only use it to check for defects.
