Does anyone know how these wireless companies offer wireless access in cafes and other public areas? If I wanted in to the game what would I need to do and how? Could I just try to strike up a deal with ACME coffee shop and sign up for a business DSL or Cable package with a local ISP then buy a wireless router and go from there. Please advise.

I'm not sure what you're asking. Do you want to set up a deal with an ISP,get a wireless router for your business and offer access or are you just wanting to walk around with a laptop and surf for free?No offense intended.What's the question?

I'm playing with the idea of setting up a wireless network in public areas where people could access the internet via there wi-fi device for a fee. is the clearer?
