Y'all campaign on other forums to get folks to fold/genome? I have three sites I frequent, and I live at SG. But I make it a point to find the "off topic" forum and plaster a big thread about distributed computing. I've noticed that technically oriented sites take to it much better than the car/gun/knife sites I otherwise browse. Guess geeks like to use spare cycles eh?

I have to agree. I have found that most of the non-technical people I talk to don't understand how running code at idle priority does not have an impact on system performance.

Oh well. I guess it is up to the geeks to save the world again. :P

I campaign for it as well, and yes, tech oriented people are much easier to convince. I have even gotten my ISP (@home NL) to write a story on it on in their health section, with links and all. :)

I'm still working to convice the company I work for to install it. They have like 400 PC's, all at least Pentium II machines, running office apps 24/7. Nobody ever turns off the computers, just the monitors.

I'd guess folding could utilize at least 95% of the CPU time, on 400 machines!!! That would be a great addition to the project. Once I get my "technical specialist" contract, I'll try again. I'm also gonna write to the staff of the Mercedes Benz Portal and ask them to include a story on it.

This is an old recruiting poster left over from my Genome days. Perhaps something similar for Team SpeedGuide? ;)

*LOL* sure wouldn't mind to join, if I weren't in already... ;) :D
