I bought the Microsoft wireless base station (MN-500) and USB adapter to get cable broadband service from my basement to my computer without wiring the house. Now it looks like I can't get cable service at all, so I'm looking into IDSL (I'm too far from the central office for regular DSL).
So, I'm curious if anyone has used the Microsoft equipment or other similar equipment for IDSL, especially where no computer is hardwired to the IDSL router. Microsoft technical support gave me a tentative "it should work if you have an ethernet connection to the base station", which IDSL has, but I'm not sure how much I believe them. Anyone?
