I recently installed a Linksys 2.4ghz wireless usb network adapter and I play online games frequently, but as soon as I had installed this I ran into lag spikes every minute or so. I am only 2 rooms away from the wireless router, but I run into this problem constantly. Is there any way to fix this problem? Any help at all would be great, thx.

i had the same problem so what i did was buy a wireless pci card and no problems now. if you watch the usb adapter you can see that it cuts out every minute, i don't know why but it just does.

to check your signal strength.......Two rooms away can be two much depending on the situation (interference etc)
I have had good results with USB 802.11 adapters I have used but I haven't used the linksys.

You may be getting crosstalk from any one of a number of things.
Go into your wireless set up on your access point and change the center frequency from the default of 6 to either 1 or 11.

In general PCI cards are slightly better then the USB.
However if the PCI end up been stuck behind the computer’s case you loose on the transmission, and you are better off with USB that can be placed high above the system.
In other words it depends on the setting.

In most cards menus it is referred to as Channels definitely worth trying.
