Question about FTP ...

I have set up a SERVER (http://68.34.52.247:81/) on my computer and I was wondering what I have to get or do to be able to upload files to it remotely. I assume I can use an FTP ... but not sure what program to get or how to set it up. My server is run using Apache. It is possible to do anything with the Apache software that I am running now? I downloaded SmartFTP and installed it. I looked through it and have it somewhat figured out as far as me downloading stuff to it. What I want to be able to do with it is have it so my girlfriend (or whoever else wants to) can upload files into it so she can get them when she gets home/ She has stuff at work that she does here that would be easier transfering this way.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

She can upload using IE.

Have her type this in address bar of browser:

(with no spaces between letters)
