For the first week of leaving my server running, i had no connection problems (like my connection would stop). After that, I had "maintaining connection" problems. My ISP is comcast. After I successfully hooked up my router (a D-Link model) and it allowed both computers in my house to connect to the internet at the same time. I usually put my server online at 11:00 p.m. and then check out my computer when i get back from school at 6:30 p.m., and see that for some reason I am logged off of my messengers and my hub is down, and then i try to connect to my home page through internet explorer, but it fails like there is an internet problem (basically, there is no internet connection). When I look at my cable modem, it looks fine, but when I look at my router, it looks like 2 lights are not on, and I think that they are usually on, when i am connected successfully to the internet. When I restart both my modem and D-Link router, everything is fine again. This behavior didn't start until for after about the first weak of everything going fine. I don't know why I keep losing connection. It seems to act this way only when i am using close to all of my bandwith from the server and messengers. Anyone have any suggestions as to what to do to fix my problem?

Any help would be greatly appreciated, as usual.

BTW, I'm using a regular comcast account (non-pro) and my caps are 1.5 by 128.

Ok, it sounds like a bad cable line to me. Call Comcast and have them check out your cable line and signals. If your line checks out fine and signals are good, have them swapped your cable modem out. That's all I can think of:)

Make sure you don't mention the server thing when you call Comcast.Running a server is against their TOS.
Maybe they have it set up to boot you from the network if they detect a server?
