I applied a tweak to my registry for my connection one time and when i got a new comp., i forgot where i went to get it. n e way, i remember that it had something to do with "RAS" and i think (if i remember correctly) that the tweak had something to do with keeping the connection alive for my cable modem. I had a problem before; I would get disconnected from some apps (like messengers) after a certain period of time. It's like the signal is weak. I have enough ram and applied all of the cable tweaks (including cablenut's from "mnosteel" and the nic memory buffer tweak), but to no avail. I definately think that the tweak i encountered a while ago had something to do with "RAS"; i can't remember if that was the name of the dword that i was supposed to add, and more importantly, i don't remember where in the registry that i was supposed to put it. Well, i know that the peeps said that that problem usually was known to have happened in xp pro (which is what i have). I also have a linksys nic and got all of the last drivers, etc. Oh, and i use a router now (a DLink one).
Any help would be greatly appreciated...
